Hi!
We have installed SAP Solution Manager on Solaris 10 Zone with Oracle.
The problem is the real name of server has been edited and applied.
How can we change after SAPINST the real name of server to virtual name?
When we start SAPINST from scratch:
what is the commando to excute SAPINST with virtual name?
Thank you very much!
Thom
Hi Thom
Have a search for SAPINST_USE_HOSTNAME in your installation guide. [SAP Note 962955 - Use of virtual TCP/IP host names|https://service.sap.com/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=962955] might also contain helpful information.
Best regards
Michael
Edit: the env variable SAPINST_USE_HOSTNAME is the way to initially install a system on a virtual hostname. There is no procedure to change it, when you already installed it. It is possible to do, but you have to go through a lot of manual steps like renaming .dbenv/.sapenv, sap profiles, j2ee config...
