Hi, Regarding sending work item to user's email box. As our development sever is 6.0, so i consider using RSWUWFML2 to send emails. I just want to know whether SAP has standard background job to run this or do we need to create background job by ourselves.
Hi JL,
since you want to send workitem to users email, generally following selections are made and variant is created for the same.
Instance Tab of RSWUWFML2, tick New Workitems only.
Send granularity, tick One message per item.
Add Executable..., tick Workitem execution.
Hope it helps.
Aditya

Hi Aditya,
I am really sorry to reopen the answered thread but i have similar question so wanted to continue in this thread.
For the same variant, i have created and scheduled job for 5mins.
My expectation for the first time it was good like when workitem came into my inbox i got a external mail stating that i have workitem in my inbox.
But the problem is same mail message is repeated for every 5mins.
For example i have only one wi in my inbox but it sends mail for every 5mins. is there anything I am missing in my system settings (ECC6.0)
Thanks in advance,
S.K.C

Hi SKC,
If I understand you correctly, I think this is due to that the work item in your inbox has never been executed before and therefore is thought as a new work item all the time (Status : Ready). When the report checks for new work items, that particular item is considered new and therefore a notification is sent out.
Anyhow, I think you should ask this in a new thread to get more opinions.
Thanks,
YL
You need to create it by yourself, as you ned to create a selection variant for the selection screen.

Hi, I think to know what selections should be made into the variants, you can read the documentation for the program.
Go to SE38, enter the program name and click Goto>Documentation>Display.
Once you are sure what to include, execute the program, input your data into the selection fields then save the variant.
Then, go to SM36 to schedule the job and remember to include the variant that you have created.
Hope it helps...
Thanks,
YL
Hi Boo, thanks for your infomation. Actually, i know how to set background job with variant, and i have read that documenation. What i would like to know is about the solution based on your project exprience. what fields we should set for automactially sending workitems to user's email box for all users according to your project experience.
Hiee, oops, sorry, looks like I misunderstood your question.
As for me, I only create the variant with very basic data like the instance data, send granularity and add executable attachment to message for.
But I think the standard text for notification can be customized too, just that I am using the default ones.
Maybe the experts could share their knowledge on this, as I am still fresh in this module.
Thanks,
YL
