ESS/MSS Documentation - different version components

Does anyone know what are the ESS/MSS components in different versions? -

Im looking for a complete component list related to version.

For example life and work events is not available in ESS for ECC 5.0 (but it can be found in the previous and later versions)

Sadly, there is not just one, good, encompassing document of ALL services for ESS over all versions. You really have to look (1) what is available for your target version (2) if anything is missing, start working back and look at previous versions. For example, as you saw in that post you reference and will find in MANY other posts on here, when ECC5 (ERP 2004) was released, it was not uncommon for folks to implement BOTH the ECC5 business package and the R/3 4.7 business package TOGETHER in order to get all the services they needed. It was a "mix mash" of sorts, but it worked quite well. Same for MSS with ECC5 as I mentioned before. This happens becuase some backend versions get kind of "caught" in between the transition from SAP of ESS/MSS into newer technology/models. They tend to pick the most commonly used services first to port over and then work down the list. We went from ITS-to-Webdynpro Java during the R/3 4.x-to-ECC5 times and now with ECC5-to-ECC6, we have the same situation for Webdynpro Java -to- Webdynpro ABAP. Luckily, the "transition" happens a little faster now thanks to enhancement packs.

Where do you get the L&W Events are not available in ECC5? It's just uses the older version whereas ECC6 uses the new version. You will find that a lot with ESS/MSS....just because something is not in the current package does not mean it is not possible or available (for example, many services in ECC5 MSS were Webdynpro Java but those that were missing in that package were still found in the earlier package the non-webdynpro Java version).

Now to be clear....when you say "components" do you mean "services" or the actual components such as servlets/beans, portal content, etc. from a more system view versus application view?
