AR18 Report - Where does fiscal period value comes from?

Hi.

I have a question relate to AR18 report (Depreciation Simulation).

I am trying to run the report and get value for FY 2017 for monthly evaluation period.

I have set up fiscal year variant and period through OB29.

Normally, my fiscal period goes 4-5-4 weeks, but every 5 years, period 12 has 5 weeks instead of 4. FY 2017 is one of the years that has 5 weeks in period 12.

I have set up correct value for period 12 for FY 2017 through OB29, but when I run the report from AR18, period 12 is bringing back 4 week value.

Is there anything else I need to set up, so that period 12 value for FY 2017 will bring 5 week value? The value should be same as period 11 (which as 5 weeks).

We don't use AR18 so I don't know how it works. But I'm afraid you've used a wrong tag as this is not really an ABAP question. It's a standard report, so FI (or whatever functional area this belongs to) should now in general how it works. If the report was in any way enhanced in your system then we wouldn't know about it anyway.

You can use SQL Trace (ST05) and debugger to see where the data comes from. Ask a local ABAPer to help if necessary. Search SAP notes. Google -> "AR18 fiscal period site:sap.com".

I found the answer.

For those of you in retail business and may face this issue, this is what you need to do.

You need to change "Asset Accounting: Weighting of Periods".

When you create new fiscal year/period, SAP automatically creates weighted periods based on 4-5-4 that was set up... but it doesn't recognize 5 weeks of period 12, even though beginning and ending period shows from new fiscal year/period.

You need to use t-code "OA85" and change period 12 value from 4 to 5 manually and transport from dev to production.
