Hi there,

I'm new to SAP and trying hard to install SolMan with MaxDB on a Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise (x64 Edition, 6GB RAM). The installation stops at Phase 36 of 51 (Create Java Users) and the error log show up the following error:

I found some discussions where people found out that deleting the user SAPJSF and resuming the installation would solve the problem - but since I'm new to all that SAP stuff I don't know how to delete the user (there are no SAP programs, like SAPGUI, yet available on the machine).

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Achim

Hello Achim,

Please go through SAP Note 1126481 - SAP installation terminates in step createJSF

https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap/support/notes/1126481

Hope it helps.

Cheers,

Hello Gagan,

if SAPJSF does not exist, it may be not the same problem. Consider opening a new thread with a detailed description of what happened.

Wish you good luck

Hello Gagan,

as mentioned above I performed the following steps:

1. Don't stop the installation program!

2. Open a SAP GUI and connect to the machine where the installation is running (you can install SAP GUI from the NetWeaver Presentation DVD)

3. Login with user "DDIC" using the master password provided during the installation

4. Delete the user "SAPJSF" using the SAP User Management

5. Resume the installation (press the retry button)

Hope this will help you.

Hello Satish,

a colleague of mine had a SAP GUI installed on his computer. He connected to the machine and logged in with user "DDIC" and the master password. Then he deleted the SAPJSF user as mentioned in another forum thread and resumed the installation of Solution Manager. And now... it works! Currently we are at phase 39 of 51 "Starting Java Engine"...

I'm sorry that we now cannot check out if your solution would work or not. But thanks to your answers we had the idea to use the SAP GUI on another machine.

Thank you very much

Hello again Satish,

thank you for your quick answer. The problem is, I do not have any other SAP software installed on the machine - not even the SAP GUI frontend. Can I install it separately?

best regards

Yes, you can have it installed. Please do that and try to apply the downloaded corrections and see what happens. It should fix the issue.

Cheers,

Satish.

Hello Satish,

thank you for your answer. Sorry I didn't mention that I've already read this SapNote before. But since I'm new to SAP I don't know what to do to "implement the correction instructions". I can open the correction instruction (Number 584957) but there's no valuable information for me. Perhaps I have to use the "Note assistant" or something like that but I don't know how to get started with this.

Thank you for any help

Hello Achim,

I understand your problem. Not to worry. Do you have SAP GUI [Frontend] installed in the system in which you are getting this error? If so, try to connect to SAP System. If you can login into the system, then go to SNOTE TCode --> From Menu bar, click on Goto --> Select Upload SAP Note.

Before you proceed with the above steps, please download the corrections, by clicking on Download Corrections button which you can see on top after opening the mentioned note.

Hope it helps.

Cheers,

Satish.
