Class not registered - CrystalPrintControl in windows XP SP3

We are faced the problem of error "System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80040154): Class not registered - CrystalPrintControl" when using the function

The program is working fine in our working station while error in client station.

We found the function "oRpt.ReportClientDocument.PrintOutputController.PrintReport();" need to have the reference:

1. CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ClientDoc.dll

2. CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.Controllers.dll

So we have added the reference in visual studio 2010.

But we cannot find the reference in client pc.

Our working station installed crystal report for visual 2010 while client pc only installed crystal report run time.

Could it be the caused? any one can advise on this problem.

Thank a lot

Dell is correct, we support OS's as long a Windows does:

SAP Crystal Reports, Developer Version for Microsoft Visual Studio – Supported Platforms

I've tested SP 22 on XP and it works fine. Likely the SP version you are using.

    Update and retest.

Which version of the Crystal SDK are you working with (go to Programs and Features and find which service pack is installed.) Also, when the runtime was installed on the workstation, was it installed while logged in with Administrator rights? If not, that's probably the problem. It needs to be installed with Admin rights in order to correctly register the COM objects and set the registry entries it needs.

      Thank you for your reply.

Crystal version we used in development station as below:

we are using windows 7 64bits and install Crystal report for visual studio 2010.

In Client PC (windows xp SP3) was only installed with crystal report run time:

We did used administrator account install the run time in client pc.

Previously we are using function PrintToPrinter() to print report, it was working well in client pc but the speed was slow.

Then we figure that function ReportClientDocument.PrintOutputController.PrintReport() is 2-3x faster.

we use the function in development station is working fine and did speed up the print process. While deploy to client pc, it was promoted error,

      "System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80040154): Class not registered - CrystalPrintControl".

      Any idea?

You're using a very old version of the SDK. There have been MANY updates since then. However, I wouldn't necessarily upgrade it immediately because newer versions aren't certified to work on Windows XP. There are potentially a couple. of things going on here:

    1. It's hard to tell whether the developer workstation and the client workstation are running the exact same service pack. An application needs to be run with the same SP of the SDK as it was compiled with.

    2. The issue very well could be the old version of the SDK that you're using.

Let's see if Don Williams has any additional thoughts or advice.
