Equipment BOM

Hi,experts,

In my equipment BOM, I want to assign material BOM as well as some components also.But I have alternative no for the material BOM.Now, say material bom, X ,alternative no- 1, other alternative is 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12.Now when I am assigning material bom no X to equipment bom, system is not asking alternative no, it is taking alternative no 1 only by default as when I am opening equipment bom in maintennace order, it is showing the components of alternative no-1 only.Can anybody please guide me how to assign same material bom say X with different alternative no to different equipment no??? please guide me .

i think we can not have alternative bom for equipments and functional locations.

to create equipment BOM

go to transaction IB01

enter equipment number and plant etc

click on copy from Materila BOM

the pop has option to select alternative BOM

are you sure you cannot assign alternative

my system is ECC6.0 but I think this was pretty standard in earlier versions

have you tried for the Equipment BOM already created?

once Equipment bom is created you can not create with counters in PM

here if iam not wrong MR.Rajib is asking about alternate BOMs of equipment

I fully agree with you that equipment and floc BOM do not have alternatives

When creating the equipment BOM from a material BOM with many alternatives the system does allow you to assign the correct alternative
