work status

Hi team,

I am setting work status for customer system and facing some strange situations without any idea...

We use "change work status" in consolidation monitor. Entity dimension is the ownership dimension and the Owner property has been maintained. And there are three levels like below (in consolidation monitor).

Level A (Group dimension member)

----Level B_1 (Group dimension member)

--------Level C_1_1 (Entity dimension member)

--------Level C_1_2 (Entity dimension member)

----Level B_2 (Group dimension member)

--------Level C_2_1 (Entity dimension member)

In Owner property,

level a - [Team A]

level b - [Team B]

level c - [Team C]

Basically, there are two problems here.

1. User A from Team A(who is assigned as the Owner of Level A) can not change work status at node Level A. Error message is that "You cannot change the work status because you are neither the owner nor the manager of this member : Level A".

Actually, this Level A is a member of Group dimension here. When I choose the corresponding node in Entity dimension, there won't be any error, which makes me

confused.

2. Sometimes it's allowed to change work status back to Default state(on Level A), but sometimes not(on Level B). Under which scenario could a user change work status from Open/Submit/... back to Default state?

Any ideas are welcomed!

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Haley

Hi,

1. User A from Team A(who is assigned as the Owner of Level A) can not change work status at node Level A. Error message is that "You cannot change the work status because you are neither the owner nor the manager of this member : Level A".

Answer: When you are changing the status, please make sure to select the checkbox "Include Children" option. With this, you will be able to change the status of all the children below Node A. Then, in next step, just select the Member of Node A ( without the include children checkbox enabled) and you will be able to change the status of node A member.

2. Sometimes it's allowed to change work status back to Default state(on Level A), but sometimes not(on Level B). Under which scenario could a user change work status from Open/Submit/... back to Default state?

Answer : It will depend on status of below children members status. WS always follows bottom up rule. See the SAP Note for details
