SAP MM Forecasting data to be fixed and used in next MRP run.

Hi all,

Currently our client is utilizing consumption based MRP and material forecasting is done based on material consumption historical value under forecasting tab. We have MTS scenario where sales order comes and consumes the VSF in MD04.

Consider a scenario that Christmas is coming and item sales will go up by 150%. So now buyer wants to increase the forecasting values in MD61 by 150 % for many items so we can order them ahead of time for next two weeks due to Christmas and this value starts reflecting in MD04 fine. This value doesn't get updated into material master forecast values and just stays in MD61 screen.

The problem is that we have batch job setup in system which runs nightly for all items and the sequence is: MP30-->MD70--->MD03-->ME56... So, what happens basically is that manual changes of 150% done in MD61 gets overwritten by MP30 forecast execution. We found a workaround by making manual adjustment for forecast values in MP30 for item which enables the 'fix indicator' for updated forecast and prevents overwriting by next MP30 run. But since we have multiple items and plants where they want to bump up the consumption values, it becomes tedious process to go into each item via MP30 and adjust forecasting for a particular date range.

So, now we need to make sure that whatever is uploaded in MD61 for a particular date range should get copied somehow in the MP30 with fix indicator so it doesn't get deleted.

Also, a flexibility where we can give multiple material and plant combination with dates and a % by which we wish to bump up the forecast. Is anyone aware of any standard way to achieve this? I have already tried LSMW but that doesn't help much.

Any suggestions are welcome. Let me know if you need more details.

Best regards,

Prashant
