Additional Maxdb Client install with different version

HiFolks,

We have one physical box consist of 3 content server with maxdb db 7.7.06. and one solution manager system 7.1 kernel version 721 ext Now i want to install a new maxdb client of latest version 7.9 for monitoring those maxdb db's form solution manager(dbacockpint)

If we review sap note 649814 - Installation/update of SAP MaxDB/liveCache client software Point 1 in reason pre-requsite for central system it says you have to update complete db software.

whereas if we refer http://maxdb.sap.com/doc/7_7/default.htm in left hand side pane installation manual --> software overview. After reading that page it seems we can install new client package of higher version in the same box it will not impact other software packages of lower version.

Can you guys share your view regarding the compatibility of this ? Any idea if we install higher version client on the same host will it impact other applications/db
