No error if mismatch in Task List and Maintenance Item Planning Plant

Hi Experts,

This question is regarding assignment of task list to a Maintenance Item/Maintenance Plan.

When we choose task list through drop down function in Maintenance Item then by default task list of the same plants as maintained in Technical objects are displayed. But if I input directly task list number which belongs to some other plant then system does not throw an error.

I have checked configurations for the same but could not find anything.

Could you please let me know if i have missed on any configuration or do i need to look into enhancements for the same.

Thank you for replying.

I was about to raise OSS note but before that want to know if there is any configuration that needs to be done to prevent it.

Just wanted to ensure I am not missing out on any configuration.

Looks like a bug, search for OSS note or raise a OSS note to SAP

Further analyse, I found that if controlling area is different then system throws error.

However if controlling area is same, then there is no error. System accepts task list belonging to different plant but with same controlling area as that of Maintenance Plan.

Hi Shobha,

Yes you are right.

There is one work around, which can be used. If the Maintenance Strategy is diffierent for Plants, then system will not allow you enter Task list belong to different stratergy with respect to Plan.

The reason behind this can only be explained by SAP.
