Hello Rajiv

Obviously you not only read but have understood the "Rules of Engagement" because you have posted your question in the right ABAP Forum (General).

I would say that the SDN is an indispensable source of knowlegde and Know-How for everybody working in the SAP universe.

For sure you can ask your questions in the SDN even as a beginner yet you probably benefit more if you are already at the intermediate or advanced level.

As a beginner it is particularly important to do proper searches in the SDN before doing any postings. If you are asking basic questions again that have been asked and addressed already many times you may end up getting a "poor" reputation in the SDN.

Please do not be frightened by these remarks. Most importantly, when you are asking for help please provide all required information which helps us to understand the context of your problem. Otherwise you will hardly get any sensible answers.

My personal opinion is: Asking three very good questions is worth more than giving ten (poor) answers.

Regards

Uwe

Hi

Rajiv, If you want to learn ABAP using SDN, that is not a good idea.

I would sincerely advice you to join an Training Institute.... learn ABAP , practice hard and then when u get doubts.... You can take the help of the experts here.

Vishwa.

but vishwa shri could u tell me is abap an home pc software , is it in an downloadable format and can i get it

Hi

ABAP is not a single component. It is one of the MODULES in SAP.

U need to install the IDES server on ur machine to access ABAP and to start working on it.

Knowledge in SQL is an added advantage before learning ABAP.

I dont know what are you doing currently, I assume you are a fresher try to get placed in a good company. Then request the concerned HR to put you in SAP. Other wise what vishwa said is correct, you cannot learn SAP on your own. Even if you are good at other programming languages.

All the best,

Murthy
