102 movement NOT cancelling CRTD lots

Folks, please consider below scenarios for CANCELLATION of inspection lot after 102 movement.

Scenario 1 Inspection plan is assigned to lot and status is REL. on posting 102 movement, lot gets cancelled and this is perfectly OKAY for us.

scenario 2 Inspection plan is not assigned and lot status is CRTD. now it does not get cancelled on posting 102 movement. This is REQUIREMENT.

I believe this is std behaviour but user does not want to assign IP manually everytime.

QUERY 2

Do we have a concept similar to production version in QM? if there are multiple plans available, system should choose a specific plan?

Dear Akash,

You can post 102 material document using cancellation of 101 Material document.

You can not post 102 material document without reference to any material document if stock lies in Quality.

This is well explained in note 949477.

Cancelling the material document or posting the material document Movement type is 102 in both the cases but during cancelling reference is material document.

If Material is not QM managed then you can post 102 material document without any cancellation of 101 material document.

Kindly confirm you are cancelling the 101 material document or posting 102 material document.

If you are posting 102 material document you will get the error "Change the inspection stock of material".

If you are cancelling the 101 material document , you will not get this error.

I am posting 102 material doc. when I get this error. I post 102 movement so as to reverse the GR.

I believe we have been doing it this way from a long time.

I see that the stock lies in QI only but still I am not able to post 102.

Dear Akash,

You can not post 102 material document from quality, this is standard functionality.

You have to cancel the GR of 101 document.

My question is, whether the lot lies in CRTD or REL (or any other status) If the stock lies in QI, we cannot post 102 movement?

I have read many threads and realized that cancelling a document or posting 102 is similar.

I found one SAP note 949477 that agrees with you stated.

Can you please some shed some light on this.

Note 2186161 is also having prerequisite note, kindly check which prerequisite note is applicable to your system.

While trying to create more test scenarios for this, I realized that now I am not able to post 102 movement for a purchase/process order both.

System gives error " Change the inspection stock of material in QM only"

I have tried everything for this bu no success.

Can you comment on this too.

Hello All,

We have applied the suggested note but issue still not resolved.

Lot remains in CRTD after 102 movement and on posting 101 again a new lot is genetaed.

Here author explains the reason and fixing the problem.

For Query 2 : There is no concept of production version in QM. You have to enhance the standard functionality to determine inspection plan.

Blog really helped, we are in process of implementing the suggested note.

and in meantime, we are fixing our master data as well.

Users have to post 102 movmnt very often and there are lot of master data issues, multiple plans are existing for same material plant.

Due to this, when lot is created it does not have plan assigned and status remains CRTD. Now on posting 102 movmnt, this lot does not gets cancelled and on posting 101 again a new lot gets created(users work on this new lot). The old lots remain in the system.

If the lot is created with plan i.e. status is REL, then on psoting 102 it gets cancelled and everyone is HAPPY.

Hello Akash,

even if lot is in CRTD Status it should get cancelled at 102 mvt. (this is standard behavior)

Can u please explain ur requirement briefly
