Configuring DMS file extensions ???

1008 Views Last edit Apr 25, 2018 at 06:32 AM 2 rev

A client encountered an error in PPO that says "No Application is configured in DMS for files with extension &1"

We have replicated the error and we believe that this is due to one of the file extension in uppercase (.JPG). The attachment was sent from an ipad.

We have provided a workaround for this just to complete the process in PPO by manually changing the extension from .JPG to .jpg in both File Share and payload.

Now we need to establish a permanent solution for this and I'm not sure how.

I've have a few points that I want to lay in here please correct me if you find anything wrong:

  • I've already tried configuring the tables for this in SM30 by adding file exts with uppercase JPG and JPEG. We have a control table for attachments. Unfortunately, it didn't work. Still encounters the error in PPO.
  • Next is the file system for sharing which is UNIX. If anything tries to retrieve from such server a file requesting it with the wrong case combination, it will simply return a an error, which is perfectly right, since files whose name differs even just for case are different files on UNIX.

What would be a possible solution for this.

thank you very much
