Hello All
We are currently planning to create one new BW4HANA system from our two existing isolated BW environments one being BW-7.0 on Oracle & other one being BW-7.4 on HANA.
To achieve this we plan to use the migration path "Landscape Transformation" which provides functionality to combine two system into one along with the flexibility to choose required data models and data for the new system.
However this seems to be in planning phase as mentioned in the "Road Map" document as of Jan-2018.
Does anyone know when is the Landscape Transformation migration path planned to be released for customers ?
Thanks & Regards
Ashish
Hello Ashish,
Landscape Transformations are typically a combination of in-place and remote conversions. While in-place conversion is already available for customers, the remote conversion is still in Early Adopter Care (planned availability is July). However, landscape transformation like consolidating systems must cover more than regular conversions. For example, master data could be different and needs to be merged or remapped, users might be different, there might be overlap in many areas of the systems, etc. It's therefore best to leave this to expert consultant who are familiar with the challenges. Please contact SAP Digital Business Services. Our consulting team will be able to put together a plan for your specific situation and recommend the best approach for a conversion strategy.
Best,
Marc
