Unknown Database Connector Error

I am using Crystal 2008 using a R3.0 Universe. I write the report just fine but I occasionally get unknown database connector error.

If I set location and point to the same Universe I can run the report. It goes away but comes back on occasions

Hi I get this issue creating reports using a Universe as a datasource. It is a very tricky issue, when the tables has not rows works fine, but when the Datawarehouse it is populate and I try to retrieve rows the error shown up.

Any advice?

Seemed to be resolved in Crystal 2008 SP1

sounds like your connection to the database gets dropped and timesout before the report is run. check the server timeout

I do not seem to be getting the same issue with Webi though.

I am getting a similiar error, with the text below. It happens quite often.

Unknown Database Connector Error

Failed to retrieve data from the database.

Failed to export the report.

Error in File

You said to check the server timeout. What time out setting do you mean? Where is it?

im not sure, check with your dba on that.

I'm getting the same error. Did you find out where the timeout values are located? We have absolutely no timeout problems here with any of our applications so I'm not sure that is the answer.
