Installing CI on HA Windows 2008 Server Cluster (can't find saploc)

Hello folks,

I am having a problem with Windows 2008 Server installation in a MSCS clustered environment. We have run through the ASCS, 1st Node, 2nd Node, and both ERS's successfully, and now we are trying to install the CI on Node A.

When we try it - we fail. It states that the saploc share is not accessible. We have tested this VIA the
GLOBALHOST\ and only see the sapmnt.

In the new Windows 2008 Server feature for clustering, you are not able to access any locally defined shares VIA the NetName in the cluster group. In Windows 2003 Server you can see both sapmnt and saploc VIA the clustered NetName. So, why does the SAPInst program try to find it under the Clustered NetName and not the local host name - as this share is a locally defined share?

We have asked Microsoft if there are any ways to create or bring in the saploc share so that it shows up in the clustered NetName but they said that there is no way that they know of and that it was a loophole before.

Has anyone gotten through a complete HA ECC 6.0 install on a Windows 2008 Server MSCS cluster?

How did you get the CI to install on saploc VIA the NetName?

Thanks very much - for any help offered!

Kind regards,
