Hi, I cannot seem to connect my SAP HANA to my predictive analytics, I tried using the server name give in my database and also the instance/port (00) but it keep prompt error to check my server and instance port. Is there a way to connect to it? My account with SAP is trial account.

Hi Rebecca,

Can you check if your HANA system is multi-tenant? if so, please make sure you enter in the complete port number instead of the instance number. Multi-tenant port numbers may look something like 30043

Is it something like this port? I have tried all but they still prompt me to check server name and instance ID

Thanks Rebecca, It doesn't look like a multi-tenant system... You can find out the instance number by following the steps in the screenshot from HANA Studio below. I am guessing its instance number 01 and not 00 like you have used in your screenshot in the first post.

Or you can also check it from the Landscapes tab as you did already:

SQL Port 30115 indicates the instance is 01, second and third digit of the port number.

My instance number is 00?

Thanks Rebecca,

Can you also check the SQL Port in your Landscapes tab? You can try with the complete port number instead of the instance, to be sure.

I am assuming you are running HANA studio on the same desktop as PA and if not, try pinging the HANA system from the desktop to see if the firewall or antivirus is blocking it.

Here is the SQL Port. I tried 30113 as the port but still failed. Can I check with you which IP address should I ping? I tried pinging the hanatrial.ondemand.com and it show request timed out.

can you trying pinging vsa2056651.nwtrial.od.sap.biz?

It stated they could not find the host of that address. does it mean the firewall block it?

It could be a combination of host+port that is being likely blocked by the firewall or antivirus. Can you try the same from the machine you are running HANA Studio from?

I using the same machine(laptop) that is running my HANA. I running HANA via eclipse instead of HANA Studio.

Hi Rebecca,

I'd suggest raising a support ticket for it now since it'll require further investigation. Once resolved, we can update the thread with the solution.

Hi, raising support ticket you mean by report incident? because I'm currently a P-User so in order to report and incident the system prompt that I need to be an S-User.

Hi,

Can you please precise the trial environment you use?

1) Trial version of Predictive Analytics Desktop you have downloaded and a HANA trial version or

2) A CAL instance Predictive Analytics you have created on your AWS account

Thank in advance

Best regards

Hi Thierry, I have downloaded the trial version of the Predictive Analytics Desktop and I did not download Hana Studio because I am using Eclipse to access SAP HANA

Hi, I would like to add on to my comment above. I'm using the Predictive Analytics Desktop version 3.0.0.0 and SAP HANA Cloud Trial account database version 1.00.122.08.1490178281
