Hello Team
I was curious to learn the options of data migration in an upgrade project for mid-year-go-live.
I'll appreciate if you experts can share any strategies/ideas, real time experiences.
Regards
Charlene
Hi,
For any data migration projects data consistancy (data going to upload) should taken care.
For data consistancy we have to create templates. (Excel sheet contains field names and more)
Then have to create BDC or LSMW for upload the data to R/3.
The above said is just overview of ur requirement..Pl let me know if need to know more.
Thanks

Thanks
If anyone has some master data templates and can share, will be great.
The client wants to take all master data of all infotypes for the past 10years from 4.6 to 6.0.
They also want to take all "Maintain Texts" which are saved in infotypes. I know that these texts are saved in PCL1 but I have no idea how to migrate them to ecc6.0.
Any input on data migration strategy for an upgrade from 4.6 to ECC6.0 for going live on fiscal year will be appreciated.
Thanks
template is nothing but consists of data and feild names which u want to upload either in bdc or lsmw
say for example if u want to update the personal details of the employee
u have to go to infotyoe 0002 and give the details so try to know which data u are giveing and know the names of the feilds use f1
and create a template
still haveing problem i will let u know
check my b card and update the thread
Hi CC
As sikinder told templates will have Mandatory field of that infotype + whatever that data your business need to store in infotype apart from other fields
