Selection of storage bin in stock removal

Hi,

I need some help in the next situation:

I have the same material in two storage bins (storage bin A and storage bin B). When I remove stock of this material from my warehouse, I prefer to remove it from the storage bin A better than storage bin B. I mean, I want to give priority on stock removal to the storage A over the storage B.

How can I prioritize the storage bins stock removal at warehouse master data? Is there any field at the storage bin master where I can define a preference in the stock removal?

If this it is not possible, is there any chance to change the storage bin from which the stock is removed in the confirmation (not in the creation) of the Transport Order?

you may have to give more input for your query.

From my point of view the bin A would automatically be chosen prior to bin B, just because of the alphabetic seguence.

But if in your system the TO is created for removal from B instead of A, then this must have to do with your removal strategy or some other setting.

Do you use FIFO removal, do you use batch management, storage areas,....

Please describe your settings.

the systematically you have Two choise either you implement the user exit from below or you use the fixed bin strategy

Hello,

1. You can set up fixed bin in material master in the particular storage type in which the bin is created, input the bin number in material master, in WM view. In this case u need to replenish the fixed bin as and when it gets empty.

Or

2. You can have two different bin types for each bin, further in bin type search in customizing, put the desired bin's bin type first in sequence so that material will always be picked from this bin.

Or

3. You can use a user exit in which u have to define the storage bin from which u need to always pick up the stock, if emty pick from other bins.

Or

4. As you asked lastly if you want manually changing the bins, you have that provision as well. While confirming the TO you have the option of changing the bins. If you know the bin name u can input it on the TO comfirmation screen itself.

Hello,

you say that it´s possible to change the source storage bin while confirming OT. I checked it and I´ve seen a customizing point where you can set destination bin as available to be changed, but that is not possible for source bin. So, are you sure that you can change source bin while confirming OT????

You cannot change the source bin, it will be violating warehouse rules. The point I mentioned was about destination bin.

I would like to ask what is the reason to change source bin during TO confirmation?

HI,

You have a configuration setting for defining the removing of material from the storage bins in the SPRO.

Check the strategy part definition. I don't have the access for SAP to guide you with the path.
