How to consume a special web service via wsdl?

Former Member

Hi all together,

I've just started working with VC and have a simple and stupid question:

How can I consume a web service if I just have the wsdl?

I've read a lot of blogs and threads, but I can't find a real answer.

My problem is: A lot of blogs (for [example|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/4679] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken]😉 show the entry 'Define web service system' in the taskbar --> Tools menue. With this functionality it should be easy to consume a web service. But this entry doesn't appear in my VC environment, there are only a few entries in the 'Tools' menue: - Manage System Aliases

- Find All Expressions

- Service Component Wizard

- Options

I am working with VC 7.1 SP15.

Could someone help me to find the right functionality?

Thanks in advance,

Dominik

Hi All,

If you have defined your webservice via NWA as shown in:

https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/vc71/webServiceDestination

You need to access the WebService using the "Search In" Dropdown in Visual Composer's Search panel, and not using the Service Registry.

The Webservice will have an entry of its own in the dropdown list.

Hope This Helps.

Regards.

Omer.

Hi Dominik,

The example in the blog is for VC 7.0.

Since you are using VC 7.1 SP 5 (and not 15, since there is none ), this is [what |https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/vc71/webServiceDestination]you need to follow.

Good Luck,

Dharmi

Hi Dharmi,

thanks a lot for your answer.

Of course, it's VC 7.1 SP5, not SP15. I've installed the SAP Netweaver Compostition Environment on my local pc.

I've tried to consume a webservice and it works

But I have another question: If I try to consume a service from the esworkplace like it is shown in this [blog|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/7587] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken];, I always get the error

'XMSG_COULD_NOT_LOAD_CLASSIFICATIONS'

when I open the advanced search.

Maybe the problem is based on the proxy settings. Could you please help me with this?

Thanks a lot,

Dominik
