Dear Uts,

Check from ur material master view ' Sales: General/Plant Data' that availability check should be 02 and batch management should get activated .

check CT01 - addnl data table name and field name maintained ( which field to be taken for batch determination )

check CL01 - char - is maintained with CT01 char

check from v/c1 'Sort sequence' and Qty proposal 1 are maintained correctly.

Other wise your config details are correct.

Dear Uts,

Goto CU71- enter your sort sequence and click on Charectristics - there you will have to define the char and whether it is ascending or decending and save .

Now , try .

dear uts,

Goto MSC2N and put all the data and enter - click on classification - there you should find the field that you have kept to ascending / desending in grey .

if not , delete ( there is a delete button the classification tab itself ) and create again ( create button will come when u delete ) and save , now you should get the field , if you are not getting it then CL01 setting has to be checked , whether material class is correct or not .

check and revert.

Dear Uts ,

If you do not find the field , it may be due to the reason that u have created the batch after settings done , please create a new batch and and see whether you are getting that field ,

by the way , can you tell me which field you have taken for ascending ? and what is the name of the charectristics

Dear saravanan,

Re:

In CU70 i have created sort sequence and assigned charactestic to it,in which i have checked the check box for ascending.

charectristics name is Nirv

Dear Uts,

Goto MM03 , put the material and select the classification - whether u could able to see the your 'Nirv' discription at the bottom listing ?

If not ,

Material class that u have maintained in material master (MM03) - classification - ( say ex : MKPF ) is not same with the class where u have maintained the 'char' in CL03 ( in your case it is Nirv , say ex ; you have taken batch number in ascending ).

Then maintain the 'char' against the matrial class in material master .

Hi Sravan,

Re: Goto MM03 , put the material and select the classification - whether u could able to see the your 'Nirv' discription at the bottom listing ?

Earlier this classification view was not maintained, so i created, and maintained accordingly the class. In the same view :

In characterstic description : Value

Batch Number

It is not showing any value.

ok , now you have got material class and class type ,

go to CL01 and create the class and attach the charectristics into that .

after doing this can u able to see in material master ?

lot of discussion happened , now we go with step wise.

Former Member

Dear Uts,

It is ok , u should get charecteristic description .

next , you create one batch ( new ) against this material through MSC1N with the following data

Material

Batch

Plant

Stor. loc.

Prefix 'A' into your batch number , sothat while ascending the batch number , it will come in top.

while creating batch number , in classification your batch number field should show .

update me if not shown.

Dear Uts,

then , u r in right direction.

Now create 2 more batchs like this with prefix 'A' and take a stock into it .

Goto VCH1.

enter your strategy type

select the sequence as you want ( keep in more specific level , sothat it will not disturb other business ) . enter the details and press enter .

at the top 'Selection criteria ' is there , click on that it will ask for class , type your class and press enter , now you will all charectristrics . click next at the top ( aero ) .

Click on 'sort' at the top there you could see your Sort rule , if it is not your sort rule , you can take drop down and select your sort rule ( which u have defined in CT01 ) .

back

save .

click on strategy analysis and ther you will get strategy type that you have maintained in VCH1 .

take drop down and which level , that you have maintained the condtion type , just click on that you will get details on right side ,

there you should get at the top

Condition record has been specified

if not ,

see what is missing in the access sequence , ( it is just like your billing condition analysis ) and maintain it ,

I think the earlier condition maintained throuth VCH1 is creating probelm .

goto VCH2 , enter the strategy type

click on strategy info

type material and plant and distribution channel

execute .

if u r getting multiple entries , then enter one by one and mark for deletion .

Keep only one access sequence and try again

check from material master view : Sales: General/Plant Data

whether general data - availablility check is '02'

if it is 02 , it is correct

then check VT03 , put your charectristics and check from addnl data , what is given on , if it is blank , then u write the following ,

Table name MCHA Field name CHARG

then , goto MSC2N , classification , delete the classification and recreate again , you will get the batchnumber field in grey

and save .

if everything done , then try for delivery

Hi Sravan,

Pl clarify one thing , while creating delivery, once i am clicking on split batch tab , then its taking the batch automatically,

It means without clicking on split batch tab, it won't determine batch automatically.

Pl confirm

Uts

No.

You can see ' + ' indicator ( multiple batch ) , just before item category column from initial screen itself , just click on that you will get spilited batch there .
