Installation of SAP Front end server

Hi Team, I would like to have a suggestion on implementing the SAP Front end server as we are planning to implement the SAP Fiori into the existing setup of On-Premise(S4 HANA 1511). The infra is internet-----IPS--------Firewall-------AAA---------router---------core SW---------access--------users

SAP cluster is at core SW And what we need to do is just set a FIORI front end server between Firewall and AAA server, as a DMZ server, to provide interface to internet.

Can you suggest the installation options or procedures for SAP Front end server in the existing infra. Looking forward to hear from you.

Hi Rayaseelan,

I believe you are talking about Fiori Fronted server ? FES ?

https://blogs.sap.com/2016/12/07/sap-fiori-front-end-server-installation-guide/

If yes, first you should define your architecture options. (Embedded landscape/ Hub landscape)

If you have S4HANA backend and Gateway in same landscape, means you go with Embedded approach. You install FES 4.0 or 3.0 depending on your S4 version.

For HUB, you have to install FES in Frontend system.

If by Frontend server you mean Frontend system, on how to go with landscape options. Kindly follow below guide by SAP's recommendation. This is a new architecture /landscape recommendations to be followed for S4.

Hi Tejas,

Sorry for the delay in response.

We are going with hub landscape. As we are planning to access the fiori application through internet, Do we need to follow any additional security procedures like SAML or any SAP recommendations available to follow.

or i need to go with the VPN access to connect from home/public network (airwatch/forticlient/etc).

Given link is very much useful.
