SAPMMC tree disappear

Dear Expert,

My SAPMMC suddenly disappeared after restarting the server, i have tried to recover it by:

- adding snap-in, but it showed error when activating:

CAN NOT CONNECT TO SAP SERVICE on PORTAL01

WebService errror: 20

Unknown error

DCOM Interface error: 80070424

The specified service does not exist as an installed service.

- try to run startsap manually from command line (did not work), with command:

startsap.exe name=SLM nr=00 SAPDIAHOST=<host name> profile=d:/usr/sap/SLM/SYS/profile/START_DVEBMGS00_hostname

My questions:

1. How to recover SAPMMC without re-installing CI?

2. Proper command to startsap manually from command line.

3. What's the root cause for such problem? How to avoid this in the future?

Since this is solman system that urgently required, your assistance and advice are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Rudi

check if you are missing a SAP service named SAPSLM_00 or similar.

if missing, run SAPSTARTSRV and re-create the SAP service.

    Hi Rudi,

    Your answers

    1. How to recover SAPMMC without re-installing CI?

    Open you MMC console.

    Goto file-->ADD/Remove snap-in

    Click on ADD

    Choose SAP Systems Manager

    Again Click on ADD

    Click Next

Here give your SID in the system field

fill instance field like this <hostname> <instance no>

Mind space between hostname and instance no

Also check SAPservice<SID> service is running or not

    2. Proper command to startsap manually from command line.

    startsap.exe name=<SID> nr=<system no> SAPDIAHOST=<host name> pf=d:\usr\sap\<sid>\SYS\profile\START_DVEBMGS<no>_hostname

    Regards

    Ashok

    Hi,

Your snapin has failed to initialise.

Follow SAP Note 354595 - Error message: Snap-in failed to initialize.

    It suggests the following:

C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32) and execute the following command:

    REGSVR32 SAPMMC.DLL

If additional DLLs with the name template SAPMMC* (for example,

SAPMMCMS.DLL) are found in the SYSTEM32 directory, then register these

    also, for example, "REGSVR32 SAPMMCMS.DLL

    Hope this helps.

    Pl award suitably.

    Regards
