Dear SAPians,

I Have an issue that if due to some unavoidable resons, i have to change the MIC in table ' QAMV' with another one, But system is stopping me by saying that 'Entry APPEAR26' does not exists in QPMK' but it is lying in 'QPMK'. When i introget further then systen says :

*Procedure for System Administration

If this is not an incorrect entry, check the system settings and change them if necessary.

If there is a connection to the Customizing system, you can maintain the system settings by choosing Customizing in the Performance Assistant or Maintain Entries (F5) when displaying the help in a modal dialog box.*

Please help me out to get it done.

Regards

Hi Atul,

If I am not misunderstanding, you wish to change the data in the table. Correct?

Then Follow the steps,

- Run trx SE16n

- Enter the Table Name, press enter.

- Now in the command window, Where we type the T Codes, write "&SAP_edit", press enter.

- System will give you a message "SAP Edit Function Activated"

- Then enter the further details according to your requirement like Inspection lot number or MIC number and Execute.

- Now change the MIC number.

Dear Syamal,

Thanks a lot for your prompt reply but my problem is somwhat different. I went thru the same procedure you explain in your reply, But when i am going to change the MIC in table then System is giving an error msg.

Master insp.charac. Entry KPCH APPEAR1 does not exist in QPMK (check entry)

But the problem is that this MIC is already maintained in table 'QPMK'

When i further introgate then system give the following reason....

+Entry KPCH APPEAR1 does not exist in QPMK (check entry)

Message no. 00058

Diagnosis

Input values must be defined in Table QPMK. The value or values 'KPCH APPEAR1 ' are not specified in this table.

Procedure

Check whether the input is correct and correct if necessary.

Procedure for System Administration

If this is not an incorrect entry, check the system settings and change them if necessary.

If there is a connection to the Customizing system, you can maintain the system settings by choosing Customizing in the Performance Assistant or Maintain Entries (F5) when displaying the help in a modal dialog box.+

Please advise me that how this problem can be solved.

Thanks and regards.

Hello Atul,

You have referred two tables,

QAMV that stands for Characteristic specifications for inspection processing

QPMK that stands for Inspection characteristic master

Now as per the system message says the MIC is not part of the table QPMK, while you enter details for the same such as "KPCH APPEAR1". I also doubt about the correctness of this MIC identification. Hence as per STD SAP the MIC have 8 digits only as alfanumeric number range and the "KPCH APPEAR1" is more than 8. So I doubt, whether the MIC identification number you are feeding in SE16n is correct or it should be rechecked????

Any I have assumed you are asking the change the MIC number in table QAMV and suggested the same.

But to change the same for table QPMK is tooo risky.

Hi Shyamal,

Once again a lot of thanks to give me prompt response. 'KPCH APPEAR1' is stands basically for :-

APPEAR1 : MIC Code (and it is only maintained upto 8 char)

See there is one more msg. is giving by System :-

Procedure for System Administration

- If this is not an incorrect entry, check the system settings and change them if necessary.

- If there is a connection to the Customizing system, you can maintain the system settings by choosing Customizing in the Performance Assistant or Maintain Entries (F5) when displaying the help in a modal dialog box.

Please note that :---

- MIC Code is correct

- MIC is wel maintained in table 'QPMK'

- System is still giving error masg. & suggested some settings required in customization.

Please advice

Thanks.

So now let me know in which table you want What change in hte MIC?

I mean you wish to change the APPEAR1 to be changed as APPEAR2?

If yes then, I think it will not get changed in the QPMK - Inspection characteristic master table.

See I have suggested you the &SAP_EDIT function because I guess you wish to change the MIC in table QAMV - Characteristic specifications for inspection processing, where you can change the MIC number. But in the table for master such fields like the Master's Identification number can't be changed.

Dear Shyamal,

You are 100% right that i want to change APPEAR1 to APPEAR2 in QAMV - Characteristic specifications for inspection processing, But the system is giving the error msg and that i have already mentioned in my post.

Please note that I am not going to make any change in QPMK - Inspection characteristic master table.

Please advise why system stopping me for changing MIC Code in 'QAMV' and giving error ( in the help system suggested for customization change that i donot know how and what change??)

Hope you get my problem now correctly.

Thanks.

Ok let me know such MIC "APPEAR2" is there in table QPMK?

I mean you have not created the MIC as APPEAR2.

See what system will do is it will replace the MIC APPEAR1 with APPEAR2. But here what happening is there is no such MIC as APPEAR2 available in system data base, so it is prompting the error.

So what you need to do is create the MIC as APPEAR2 (QS21)

And then replace it in table QAMV through SE16N as I have directed in my first reply.

Hi Shyamal,

Thanks for your contineous support, But my point is unfortunately still unresolved. I am giving you pointwise reply :-

- Ok let me know such MIC "APPEAR2" is there in table QPMK?

YES It is maintained.

- So what you need to do is create the MIC as APPEAR2 (QS21)

And then replace it in table QAMV through SE16N as I have directed in my first reply.

  • Even with the new MIC which i created , System is giving the same error.*

Please Help

Thanks once again for contineous support.

Dear Atul,

I thing is sure that system is not able to find the MIC APPEAR2 in the data base table QPMK hence throwing the error.

So Chekc,,,,,,,,

- Where the MIC is created?

- The MIC version you are using to replace the existing one is correct?

- In the to replace the same MIC with the other one. i.e. try to replace "APPEAR1" with "COLOR1", where "COLOR1" should be RELEASED, and in the same plant where the APPEAR1 is created.

Hope will solve this time!!!!!!!!!!!1

Dear Shyamal,

It is still not working and giving error,

- MIC is created

- Version of MIC is correct

& for your query :-

In the to replace the same MIC with the other one. i.e. try to replace "APPEAR1" with "COLOR1", where "COLOR1" should be RELEASED, and in the same plant where the APPEAR1 is created.

- Yes that is released and with in the same plant.

I Have sent you one mail at your E-Mail ID , with all screenshots to understand the problem.

Hope that will help you to get a solution.
