Hi,
I want to generate same series no for a document,e.g. series T starts with 1 and series S will also strart with 1,is it possible .I tried with suffix and prefix but it didn't work.

Though you may use the Prefix..the numbering is still the same and that is not possible..
The DocNum is the key field and indexed and it has to be unique
It is not possible using Document Numbering.
As an Alternate you can use 'Sequence'
Administration -> Setup -> Finances -> Tax -> Sequence.
