Document Splitting Characteristics in new G/L

Hello,

We need to activate document splitting, we do not need to migrate from clasic GL into a new G/L, because FAGLFLEXT is already populated, but our problem is that currently we only have into the "Assign Scenarios and Customer Fields to Ledgers" the FIN_CCA Cost Center Update, but we need to add the next Scenarios so the new document splittng definition works:

FIN_PCA Profit Center Update

FIN_SEGM Segmentation

We found SAP note 891144 that says:

the following is explicitly prohibited:

2. You are not allowed to change the ledger definitions or temporarily deactivate/activate an assigned scenario or customer field later on (e.g. subsequent FIN_PCA assignment).

My concern is if we add the scenarios mentoned below can cause system errors, problems to the data of the company codes, and if somebody could help us to clarify the project phases.

Hi

Your concern is very genuine. If you add the scenarios, your subsequent data will have those splitting characteristics, but not the historical data and hence your financial statements will NOT be balanced at account assignment level. You should use the SLO Service either with SAP or through a partner to update the historical balances and line item balances. This must be done at the start of the year, when closing for previous year has been completed. Do not do this without the SLO/LT Services.

Many thanks Sanil, We already install the Addon and we made a SOW with SLO, have you ever done this before?

Thanks and Regards

Hi

I am part of an SI (SAP Partner_, which does this kind of work with SAP. You need to work with a SI who has the expertise or work with SAP
