HTML GUI under Kernel 722 - Document info record- Change content of originals

Dear SAP gurus,

with upgrading to Kernel 722 there's no java applet any more in HTML GUI.

In transaction CV02N we want to change an original excel file by clicking on the change button.

File will be saved in somewhere in virtual drive Z:\ of Internet Explorer 11. But what want want to do...and this worked in the past....is to right away open this Excel-file edit it, save the changes in MS Excel, close Excel and save the document info record to check in the changed Excel original.

Does this not work any more with new WebGUI data browser? Opening an original in edit mode and save it directly?

Or is there a way how to switch back to Java applet?

Thanks and BR,

Henning

Hello Henning,

You always need to download the file, change it and then upload it again.

The use of OLE automation, which would allow the direct edit via Excel, it was never supported (SAP note 314568).

You can read KBA 2249454 on how to use the WEBGUI File Browser.

A FAQ note is also available.

I hope this helps..

Kind regards,

Cris

Dear Cris,

thanks for your answer.

Is there a way to switch back to Java applet?

Because with Java Applet changing original files worked....although it's not supported.

Thanks and BR,

Henning

Dear Henning,

The Java applet is no longer maintained, as the NPAPI was removed from almost all web browsers.

Kind regards,
Cris
