Upgrade NWDS SP12 to SP14 - partially successful

I have downloaded the SAR file for upgrade NWDS to SP14, used SAPCAR to extract, and executed IDE70setup.exe. All seems well, except for the fact that I can no longer open the data modeler view in my Web Dynpro perspective.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any thoughts?

Hi,

Similar problem comes usually when the .dll files fail to get registered due to missing files in installable/improper installation

Solution:

1.Try over writing again by installing again.

2.Else,remove the older one from control panel.Install afresh again.

3.After installtion and before starting the NWDS from desktop shortcut.Right click ,Open the properties change the workspace by adding the below for target

D:\SAPIDE7.0.16\IDE70\eclipse\SapIde.exe -vm "D:\j2sdk1.4.2_08\bin\javaw.exe" -data "D:\NewWorkspace"

I can't seem to find the answer to the following question, hoping you might know?

Is the JIDE14_0-10003480.SAR file a complete install, or an incremental update? I hesitate to uninstall my current NWDS without knowing.

Well, I took a chance and risked uninstalling my current NWDS version on SPS12. After a painfully manual removal process, my fresh installation of NWDS SPS14 appears to be functional now.

My last hurdle is this - each time I launch NWDS, I am presented with a splash window stating 'Please wait - Completing the Install'. Because of this, and a few other visible differences that do not seem to affect functionality, I wonder if there are any last clean up tasks I should perform.

Any advice?
