Language support prolem in SAP

Dear all,

I have set up a SAP server for testing purpose, it is fine when I login the system by using the language English. However when try to login the system by enter the 'ZF' in the field of 'Language', the system told me that "Select one of the installed languages". I have no idea after I find many documents from SAP. Therefore please help to tell me that how to install a language -- I want user can choose the language Chinese or English during logon. The system is ERP 6.0. Thanks in advance!

For Language installation, please check SAP Note first specific to your

language. Check for <language> install.

1. You must know code page of your language, install that code page by

executing RSCPINST report. Many times this report end with an error. So

check following tables for your code page

TCP0D This must contain your country code and empty language

TCPDB This must contain your code page in both fields

2. You are required to make changes in Instance profile RZ10 for installed

language, login language, check that sap note.

3. First Create a language using SMLT. after you create, you will find an

import icon in front of defined language. Click it, a new screen will apper,

give the path as required and say import. SAP version upto 46D, the import

can be seen as background process but it can't be in enterprise version. so

keep on checking SMLT screen till the time it become green. It approximately

takes anywhere between 4 hours to 10 hours.

Regarding Language CD, You have to order for specific language you want to

install, latin American languages comes with standard kit, check Language CD

of your Installation kit.

PS. Never install language without reading notes specific to it. First

finish all prerequisite then go for SMLT import. Keep one seperate session

open and do not close it till the time u sucessfully log in into system

after Lang Import.

Hi,

I import the language in SMLT and choose import by frontend, it need the file with extension car or sar. However the language file in the DVD is file with pat. So I cannot import. Do I miss anything before use SMLT? Thanks!

Hi Dick,

Put that pat file into the dirctory usr/sap/trans/eps/in on the application server and try again import in SMLT.

Problem solved becasue I found that is some error during input language

Dear all,

I have imported the language but when I use Chinese (ZF) to logon system. The system cannot show the Chinese correctly. It do the installation in following procedure:

1. In SA38, run the program rscpinst and add the key in NLS setting maintenance and then active it.

2. Import the languagein SMLT.

3. In RZ10, revise the parameter zcsa/installed_language and restart the system.

I try several time this procedure the result is the same. Please help to solve. Thanks in advance!

Hi,

At time of installation you can choose the language and its depend on your SAP softeare also which is you have.
