Horrible performance during logic - RSDRI Query Kernel causing the issue

Hi folks,

We've had some performance issues, so - in a sandbox environment - I've been tinkering and running UJSTAT reports, and noticed something odd.

I am running a standard FXTRANS using business rules - there is only one ratetype so it's not doing anything fancy - for a single period, and a moderately large type E dimension (cost centres, in this case).

We are running HANA, but with the ENABLE_NATIVE_HANA_MODEL setting set to "X", this FXTRANS takes about 35 seconds, but when I switch this setting off the same calc takes 3 seconds.

Exact same source data, exact same destination.

In UJSTAT, when I dig a little bit and compare the logs from the two sessions, I can see that 33 of my 35 seconds is spent on the "RSDRI Query Kernel" step. What is this doing? And why the huge performance impact?

This is not happening when the ENABLE_NATIVE_HANA_MODEL is switched off.

Any ideas why this might be happening? I did search for SAP Notes on this, but found nothing very useful. We are using a standard model, on BW 7.5 SP8.

Thanks very much.

Then keep ENABLE_NATIVE_HANA_MODEL is switched off. 🙂

Or try to upgrade BW 7.5 to the latest SP - may be it will help, may be not!
