Nested Section with Input control

Hi,

Please can anyone tell me how to create nested sections for cascaded input control filter

I'm using 2 dimensions in sections: Main Section(Country), Subsection(Region)

Subsection contain tables, charts sections, and other types of object.

Cascaded input control filter is placed for Main section and Subsection.

When i filter single value in Main Section(Country) Input control it displays all Subsection(Region) in the report. I need to filter data only for selected values in Main section cascaded input control accordingly subsection gets displayed.

All input control should also work for cascaded input control filter

How do i do. Could you please help with an sample.

Hi,

What is your BO version and source for the report?. if it is BO 4.1 then try using List tree

BO 4.2 had cascading option by grouping the dimesions.

Iam using BO 4.2 cascading option by grouping the dimensions.

I have created 2 sections with 2 different dimensions same object used as input control

Main Section - Region dimension

Subsection - Country dimension

Subsection contain tables, charts , and other types of object.

Cascaded the input control Region and country when i select specific region\All regions in Region Radio button, it displays all countries in the Subsection that contain tables, charts and other types of object in the report

the issue is Subsection is not filtered with selected region specific countries.

Appreciate your help in the report Subsection displaying all countires instead the selected region specific countries.

Hi,

Here are the steps I followed:

1. Created 2 input Controls on Country and Region

2. Created Group by selecting both Input Controls.

3. Have a table in Region section.

When I filter on Country, it do show me all the regions.

Can you share a screen shot of your Grouping and data?.

tree list input control you can use if your back end database SAP BW through BICS connection or UNX universe.it is not available for relation databases.

Or cascading input control is new feature from BI 4.2 SP03.

Let me explain the reqd. I have created 2 sections with 2 different dimensions with same input control as attached

Main Section - Region dimension

Subsection - Country dimension

Subsection contain tables, charts , and other types of object.

the issue is Subsection table is not filtered with selected region specific countries.

Cascading input control is not working for this nested Sections
