Dear NN,
Yes it is possible to change the validity period of a Cost Center.
Please refer to the following note that explains how to extend or shorten the validity period of a Cost Center, Cost Element etc....
Note: 37093 Master data: change/delete validity period
For extending Validity Periods use the following transactions:
Transaction KS01 (cost centers)
KA01 (cost elements)
KL01 (activity types)
For shortening the validity Period use the following transactions:
Transaction KS04 (cost centers)
KA04 (cost elements)
KL04 (activity types)
Example for extending Validity Period:
A cost center H100 exists from 01/01/1996 to 06/31/1996 and is to become
valid for the entire fiscal year.
Entry: H100, controlling area xyz
Valid from 07/01/1996 to 12/31/1996
Copy from: H100, controlling area xyz
After this, a master record exists for cost center H100, valid from 01/01/1996 to 12/31/1996.
See Note: 37093 for all this information and more.
I hope this helps answer your query and I wish you the best in your endeavours.
Kind Regards
Brendan

This has been answered umpteen times in the past... you can't change the validity period. Simply create the same CCtr for a different period duing KS01 (Create with Ref, but with different periods).
Cheers.
