Dear SDN,
We want to implement material ledger.
I want to know what are the changes that will have to be done in
the period close procedure.
ie the incremental and different steps to be done after implementing material ledger
to close books for the period

Hi,
In my view this depends on what you are using the ML for. If you want to roll up the price differences then you will have to run the material ledger closing steps (TA CKMLCP) prior to the FI period closing procedure.
If you are using ML only as an additional reporting level, i.e. you do not intend to clear your price difference accounts, then you basically donu2019t have to do anything in addition to you current closing procedures.
Another thing that springs to my mind is that with active ML you cannot reverse the MM period change.

Hi Karl,
Dont we have to do
CKMH - Determine Material Prices (Single-Level)
CKMI - Post Closing
CKMLCP - Edit Costing Run
CKMDUVACT - Distribution of Activity Differences
CKMDUVMAT - Distribution of Inventory Differences
CKMDUVREC - Enter Actual Activity Quantities
Can you explain the closing steps (and the accounting entries which follow) plz.
regards,
Hi,
CKMLCP will take care of Selection of materials, Single lever, multi lever price determinatioan, Post closing and marking of price for next period.
While performing CKMLCP,
1. The actual price of the current month will become planned price of the next month. (marked price will be released in the new period)
2. The stock values will be redetermined and gain or loss will be posted as per OBYC setting for ML.
The below activities in generally happened once in 3 months or once in a year according to business decision.
CKMDUVACT - Distribution of Activity Differences
CKMDUVMAT - Distribution of Inventory Differences
I hope, it helps!
