passing properties file to portal

Hi experts,

I have one application which was built on PDK. I have one properties file which holds connection information of backend. now how can i pass these properties file to portal. In webdynpro java, we can achieve this using application parameters. but in PDK which procedure we have to follow?

one more question is, For PDK applications creating the system object is mandatory or optional?. if mandatory how can we do that one for PDK application?

    You can access property file in the protal.

    Inside portalapp.xml, you can create a property and which you can access through you IView where the property which you have created will list down (in the IView property) and can change the value in that property.

    Create the property inside component-profile and give the path of the property file as value:

    <property name="<Name of the property>" value="<Path of the property file>"/>

    After this you can access this property in you component in the following way:

    String PropertyFile_Path =request.getComponentContext().getProfile().getProperty("<Name of the property>");

    Hope this may help you.
