How to define grayed out SAP Table fields as characteristic in a Opt Concrn

Hi All,

I need to add some of the SAP standard table fields as the charactersitic in my Operating concern that are grayed out when trying to create a characteristic using the standard tables availble. e.g. I want to add VBKD-FKDAT as a characteristic but it is grayed out and doesnt let me add it. Can any one help me with this. I am new to COPA.

Hi,

Fields are grayed out as they are already there as Characteristics in the operating concern or it cannot be used as characteristic due to technical reasons.

In the instant case billing date is already there as characteristic (by default) and you need not add it. You can see that in the fixed fields available in Extras --> Fixed fields in the dispay characteristic transaction.

Thanks Varadajan, but can you explain a little more. when I go and see the fixed characteristics, it show me a window with three different tabs, 1. Characteristics 2. Techn. fields 3. Acctg amounts. I can see some characteristics in the 1st tab but FDAT (billing date) is in the second tab. Can you tell me what is 2nd and 3rd tab for and what is the significance.
