there should be always a single active version in the system.

ther version created in mc87, if it is other than A00, then transfer that version value to active version after ur confirmation of the plan using transaction code ( MC78 - Copy ).

so in this way there will be always a single active version and any no if inactive version.

any inactive version, u are agreed for plan. transfer those values to active version as above.

hi

I created production plan for X material in mc87,it is in in inactive mode, then i activated by copying with A00,

so again i want to create Sales plan for Y material in mc87 ,i went to again mc87,it is asking one more version ....

so again i have activated with a00,

so like this i have create No of version for No of Finished products...

PIR is not only version depenedant.

its a combination of Material, Plant and version, right??

so as many plan u create it will ask u for a version. and each time it will create a inactive version.

when ur plan is confirmed then transfer that material, plant combination version to active version.

this is how system work.

and u are saying u are activation version. basically u r transfering the data to active version by copy function.

Yes Prvain

wat u said correct ,

but my doubt is that ,whenever i create a production/sales plan for new materials it asking version 001,002,003....,if i have lot of finished products ,i have create equal no of versions....

is there any other processlike creating product group...
