PowerDesigner Customization of Right Click Menu

Hi,

We want to modify "Check in" option so that before it issues a "check in" it checks the model for any errors. We couldn't find a way to modify the check in option directly, instead we decided to add a customized check in option to the menu. The problem is, we can do it for the title bar menu option (remove the original "Check In" option and add "Modified Check In" option) but we cannot modify the right-click menu (i.e. right-click on a PDM model).

Is there a way that we can do it?

Hi Serkan,

as I already wrote to Cengiz, I verified it with latest PD version (16.6.5.2) and you are unfortunately right. Removing checkin option in UI profile means, that you get rid of the Repository – Check in… item in menu, but it doesn`t disable the function, it only removes the entry from the menu. The context menu of the model remains untouched. So you are still able to run Checkin from the model context menu or even by using the shortcut Ctrl+Alt+I, which actually triggers the same dialog box, as you would run through menu Repository – Check in… (=meaning that you can checkin multiple models at once) and not only the activemodel, as it is in case of triggering the function from the model context menu.

I think, that this is not a bug, but it should be modified by SAP anyway. Most probably, there was good intention at the beginning to simplify the menus by UI profiles. But as it shows up, denying some function is better done completely, than just removing item from the menu, leaving other ways opened.

Ondrej
