Dear All,
We are in process in version upgrade (4.7e to ECC6.0).We completed the Prepare Phase with successfully.
Can we give the gap from Prepare and SAPUP.
for example : We completed the Prepare phase on 22.09.2008.We run the Sapup phase on 03.10.2008.
If is it possible. If any problem occurs
Kindly advise.

no problems, but avoid applying support packs or importing transports.
anyways, you can reset PREPARE and re-run it later if you want.

Hi
YES you can give break in between PREPARE and SAPUP
but there should not much changes in your system which might create problem in SAPUP especially in phase ACT_700.
Thanks and Regards

yes, it's possible to have a (minor) time gap between the succesful conclusion of phase PREPARE and the actual start of SAPup...be keep the time frame as little as possible, try to avoid major changes etc.

There is no way that somebody can tell how long will take your upgrade, it has too many variables like Hardware, OS, DB, DB size, and some others.
How many systems do you have, like DEV, QAS, PRD or just have DEV and PRD. The best is to have a test system that is a copy of the PRD system also in HW so you can get a good aprox for the downtime.

Each upgrade is different. There exists a number of database and OS combinations, different storage subsystems etc.
I've done upgrades taking 40 hours and upgrades taking 14 hours, depending what you use.
The easiest way to find out what problems will occur is: copy your production system to a sandbox and do the upgrade.
