Is CR 2016 compatible with paradox databases?
I suggest using an ODBC connection to Paradox DB files if you can. ODBC is more stand and if they change support for it the ODBC driver should be able to resolve any issues.
Time to upgrade to a more current DB type also...

Paradox is not listed in Product availability Matrix and Supported platforms documentation for Crystal Reports 2016 (at least I did not find it).
But if in Crystal Reports 2016 you Click "Database Files" in Database Expert then in the drop-down menu for file types you will find Paradox .db files as an option.
