Are custom queries supported in BO XI R2.

What are the possible issues that may come up when a BO 6.5 report with custom query is migrated to BO XI R2.

I have to migrate a report from BO6.5 to BO XI R2. My report is having a custome query. My doubt is can i migrate directly, if so BO XI R2 supports the same custoem query whcih is exitign in BO 6.5 or is there any risk of break in links between data providers.

    Hi,

Custom queries are supported in BO XI R2. In universe they are supported using "Derived Tables" and reports have something called "Free hand SQL".

If you are migrating BO 6.5 free hand SQL reports to BO XI R2, then the Report Migration Tool creates a universe with a derived table in it with the custom query. Then the migrated report is pointed to this universe. Most of the time the documents can be fully converted.

    Regards,

    Sanjay
