Like what all functionalities are there what can we do with this module.

I want to know it from the Functional domain side not on the SAP technical front.

Technically speaking I understand we have Functional Locations in which we have various equipments where we have different task lists and service materials and Preventive miantatinence service orders.

I want to know it from the Functional domain side not on the SAP technical front.

Functional flow....What should we maintain as masters .....

Then how is the system going to give the schedule of the maintainence.

How we can do breakdown maintainence?

and how will it ne mapped in SAP from the FI point of veiw.

How do we manage the costs accounts.

Thanks in advance.

regards,

SAP SD

Dear,

Breakdown Maintenance planning: It depends upon your order type and notification type which you have customized.

With FI and CO integration: Settlement of maintenance cost to be done where and when to be done. Costing of work which is getting calculated by activity type used in work center.

There are total 8-9 main process for plant which you can map for in SAP Pm Module. The process are as follows.

1. Managing Plant Maintenance Organization - This is one time activity & have been completed at the time of implementation of PM Module.

2. Structuring Of technical System of your companey :- This includes to building the structure of your plants(Factory) in SAP with the help of Master data like Equipments, Functional location, BOMs, Serial Numbers, Materials, Installed base.

3. Preventive Maintenance Process: - With this you can Plan all your maintenance activities in your plans.

4. Breakdown Maintenance Process: Using this process you can manage the coming breakdowns in your factories.

5. Corrective Maintenance Process : Using this you can manage all your Planned / unplanned activities in your factories.

6. Spares Parts Management & Inventory control process: - Procurement Spares can be managed using this process

7. Refurbishment of Spares parts : Using this process you can manage Reparing of spares internally as well as Externally.

8. Test Equipment Management : Using this you can manage the calibration process for your Equipments which requires calibration.

9. Project in Plant Maintenance : You can manage the New Development project using this process.

I think this satisfy your question. If further you have any query let me know.

Hii

I have mentioned in my past mail only the main process but in each process there are many sub-process are possible. Which can be discussed as you progress like .......

In PM Planning you have many options to plan your activities.

1. You can plan it on time base

2. You can Plan it on Performance base

3. You man maintain your systems on Condiional base also.

Also i have forgot to mention in last mail that there are many reports are available for analysis purposes.

Regarding documention required, I need to ask you whether you are going to support the client or you are itself going to use.

If you are going to support the client then make surer that the folloowing documentiong from client side should be available at your end.

1. Business Blue print (To understand processes configured at client site)

2. Configuration documentation (To understant the configuration done there)

3. If Any Issues , Developmemnts, Enhacement documents , List of Z-Developments done previously, (Functional Requirement Documents, Functional Specifications for each issues developed, Technical Specifications documents if available ).

Everyone is trying to be very helpful, but consider how you would answer the question if a PM Consultant, working in a User Company requested all the same information for the SD module. How would you hope to answer such a question?

I had a similar burden placed upon me, many years ago, to represent myself as an MM Consultant, and the Client ate me for breakfast!

It's not fair to you. Whoever has assigned you this responsibility should position you for success by arranging for you to recieve all the necessary SAP training.

If you are gng customizing the module

Get the materails from building block library
