Does deployemnt of .ear restart NWDS server nodes and deployemnt of SDA not?

Hi guys,

I am currently facing an issue with deployment of adapter modules. The basis tell me they can deploy .ear, .sda and .sca. As I am really struggling to find tools to create SDA I was happy that they can deploy even .ear. But now they ask for a downtime of server because they say, in some cases automatic restart of nodes happen. To me it doesn't make sense that the node should restart just because of some module deployment. Is it then so, that if a module (or any core component) deployed as .ear, nodes get restarted and if it is sda and sca no restart happens?

So I found out that deployment of adapter module in form of SAP EAR does not restart the nodes so basically there is no reason to create the SDA file. We just deployed ears.
