Planned order type selection by system

Answer from SDN:

if you want to decide the planned order type when running Mrp, then you can go to OPU5, add a item according to plant, ordertype and ProdScheduler. meanwhile, maintain the ProdScheduler field in the work scheuling view of Material Master . after that, you can get planned orders with differnent plannned order type accoring to palnt and production scheduler.

My query : Production scheduler is not a mandatory field. if it is not entered how will the system decide on type of pld ordr or pur reqsn? if the entry is u201C*u201D in prd schdlr field in opu5 it becomes a generic defn for all materials in the plant right? does it mean without prodn scheduler you cannot control the type of planned order created by the system. but i assume even if prodn scheduler is not defined in matl master system will still create plnd order type kd for mto material and type la for mts material by default right? how does the system do this? pls correct me if iam wrongu2026

Thanks in advance...

Rgds,

Ashok

Dear,

As I am aware it is nothing to do with the setting what you are talking about.

It depends on the following table,

T460C...it cannot be changed.

In this just give Procurement type, special procurement type and account assignment...system will give the order type what getting defaulted during MRP.

Check and come back
