Not all fields visable in tables when creating links CR 2008

Hello there,

I have been away from CR for a while (Last used it around 6 years ago) and I am trialling 2008. I am connecting to a MySQL data source which works fine. When I am creating a new reports I am able to choose my data source and select the tables. However, when I try and link the tables, I cannot see all of the database fields. These being the ones I need to link to the other tables! However when I get into the design of the report, I can see all database fields in all tables.

Thanks to anyone who can point me in the right directtion.

Chris

Hi Chris

Please let us know the following information:

1) Exact version number of CR 2008. You can find this from Help-> About Crystal Reports

2) Version of MySQL.

3) Connectivity Type (ODBC, OLEDB or Native).

4) Have you applied any Service Packs on CR 2008?

5) Try to create report using different connectivity type and check if you are able to see all the fields.

Thanks

Hi,

I have applied the latest service pack and I still have the same issue.

To answer your questions,

The version number is CR 2008 CR Developer 12.0.0.683.

The MySQL version is 3.51

I am connecting using ODBC 3.51 driver. I tried using the 5.1 driver but was unable to connect to the database. This is using a system DSN.

It is interesting to note that the fields that are missing, are the fields that I require to to link tables. You suggested using a different connetion method. Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Chris

Hi Poonam Thorat

I have just discovered why I cannot see these fileds when trying to link. I looked at the database structure and found that the fields that are missing are text type! That will explain it!!

Thanks for your help and responding to my post.
