Hi Experts,
I've got a very annoying issues that I've run into recently on two different clients in the past week. When using BPC Server Manager to run AppSet --> Restore Appset, after it looks at the appset backup package, it allows you to go to the SQL server name screens, you click "Next" again, then it says:
The system needs to be restarted in order to restore <AppSet>. Do you want to continue? (Yes/No)
Problem is that if you click Continue, the restore process fails on the step of restoring the database with the message:
The system cannot resolve the database name. Check that your connection with SQL Server still exists or use a different version of SQL Server."
If anyone has see this issue before, please let me know. I would really appreciate it.
Thanks,
Garrett
Hi Garrett Tedeman,
I was found that problems before, I will to try give my suggestion to you :
1.You should stop the IIS Services before.
2.After that, You restore the DB manually through MS.SQL, you must make sure that the restore process run successfully.
3.You should restore the SAP file report step(Step 1) and OLAP step(Step 3) only using SAP Server Manager.
4.Start the IIS Service again.
I wish my suggestion can help you.
Regards,
Wandi Sutandi
