Why are messages shown in pop-up?

Hi Brothers,

my application shows messages in a designated message area. However, pressing a button causes a pop-up to be shown. All messages that are currently show in the message area will be shown in this pop-up.

I don't want that. I can I suppress this?

Thanks, Johannes

    Alright,

I have a message area UI element in my view. It shows messages ( messageManager.reportMessage(...) ).

Aditionally, there is a button in my view. When the user presses a button the action of this button causes a pop-up to appear.

Now, all messages that are currently show on the view are shown in the pop-up as well.

    Hope this points it out.

    Thanks, Johannes

    • Hi,

This is because you are controling the other actions taking place when a button clicked along with the buttons action....

      Say for Ex.

      1. You have to validate (Ex. a Do Validate method) your form

      2. Click of a button.. show user all the available verndors(for ex.)

So now be sure your validation process (Do Validation) is not called when you call your button's action.

and more over, as you said if your pop-up is a new window(with embedded view), so obviously when you perform any action control will goto view2(current view or your pop-up) so all your messages are getting displayed there.

      Regards,

      Srinivas.
