Issue while connecting to SQL Anywhere database (SAP BO)

Hi All,

Hope you are doing well !

We have BO 4.2 SP5 and SQL Anywhere 17 as CMS database.

We have got CMS database parameters from Regedit i.e. database name, server name, DSN name, User name and password.

We are using same parameters to client tool in SQL anywhere but we are not able to connect to the database. It is throwing the error user and password is incorrect.

As per our understanding, If user name and password for CMS is incorrect then BO should not work but is running seamlessly.

Please provide you valuable suggestion to resolve the issue.

You cannot get password from registry.
You need to talk to your DBA.

The password you found in the registry is encrypted, so it's not going to work to log in. The BOBJ configuration in the CCM knows what the correct password is, which is why it's running correctly.

SAP Note 2063532 will give you the information you need to reset the password for the "dba" account in SQL Anywhere. If you change it, you'll probably also have to change it in the CCM.

Did you install this product? Are you unable to access the CMS or DSN or IDT?

Can you please clarify your workflow?
