Hi,

Suggestions:

1) Maintaining the conditions in ME11 has a combination of " Vendor/Material/ Pur Org / Plant" only.

2) But in case of MEK1, ' N ' number of combinations we can choose. For example : If want to maintain conditions based on material group/ Purchasing group, then this is the only option.

As Raviraj said, MEK1 can be restricted thr authorizations.

What will have precedence at the time of po creation if both inforecord and condition record exist ? Will the po pick up the conditions of the pricing procedure based on vendor schema and purchasing org schema or will the po pick up the conditions in the info record ?

Hi,

Along with the above said answewrs, there is one more utilisation for the MEK1 transaction.

Suppose if you have pricing proceedure is in place for you, you can maintain the price rather initialyse the condition for a condition type say PB00.

Then this price will be picked while you create the PO using this pricing proceedure.

Again one more differrance is info record price will get updated if you change the price in the PO.

No You cannot have all the options in ME11 which you have in MEK1.

In ME11 its only for Vendor, material ,Plant and purchase organization combination only

Hi,

So you are saying If i have to maitain materail group/Vendor specific or other combination then i will have to go to MEK1 , though the same data will be maintained. The difference being that i wont be able to maitain same info other than (Plant/p.org.vendor) in ME11.

So if i want to maitain other than the ME11 specific , i will need to go to MEK1.

The information maintained is the same though ( Condition records)

Dear,

ME11 - Create Info record transaction.

With help of this t-code you can create purchase info record. In this transaction you can enter material pirce, tax code, quantity and also assign condition type in info record for your material and vendor combition.

Due to this when you cerate purchase order all detail come from info record.

Info record is not manadatory transaction for purchase order. It is one master transaction.

MEK1 : - Create Condition record. with help of this transaction you can create condition record.

If you want to restrict MEK1 for end user remoce authorization for this t-code from specific role with help from Basis person.

Thanks for the replies.

I do understand i can remove authorization to avoid usage and it will be specific for the inforecord.

My question was "Would the end user be able to put the same infomation for a specific inforecord that he would be able to do in MEK1"

I know that the information would be pur org. materail, vendor specific , but would all information which we maitain thro MEK1 be maitained through ME11 ? Any spwecific difference between maitaining condition records in ME11 and MEK1

Hi,

In MEK1 you have options to maintain condition record for different key combination.

In ME11 if you maintain it will be for that perticular info record only.

You can restrict the use of MEK1 through Authorization.
