> AFTER I INSTALLED ORACLE 10G WITH DATABASE NAME "ORCL".

this is wrong. Read the installation guide! The database must not be created before. Did you install the latest patchset and the interim patch/minipatch after you installed the database software and before continuing?

Since there is no SLD to register you should create an SLD rather to register in one than is not yet existing.

And: writing in CAPITAL lettes means SHOUTING at people.

I HIGHLY suggest you first get an Oracle class before you fiddle with the database (no offense!). It´s audacious to run a system without even knowing some basics about the database. Running an Oracle system is not point-and-click, you need some background to understand what you are doing.

i logged in to <sid>adm and login to to sql and shut down immediatly.

also change the shared_pool_size to 412345678.

then restarted the computer.

then run the installation again and select the radio button:-(continue from the previous installation ).

then also the same error.

it shows me total:-19 completed:-16 failed:-2 waiting:-1

can you send solution for this.

You changed the shared_pool_size by editing the init<SID>.ora?

Is there any spfile.ora at the same folder? Which one do you use to open your database?

If you use the spfile.ora, then you have to change this one instead of init<SID>.ora.

You are logged in as user "administrator"?

If so, please log off and login again as <sid>adm and run the commands to restart your database.

Well, it looks like your listener is not running.

Check the Windows service "OracleSID102tnslistener". Start it and try to run again the sqlplus command.

Hi,

you don' t need a password. You just need to put it into quotes. Just do the following:

Open cmd.exe and run:

sqlplus "/ as sysdba"

shutdown immediate

startup

exit

Then try to continue your installation.

> ORA-04031: unable to allocate 4108 bytes of shared memory ("shared pool","select o.owner#,o.name,o.nam...","Typecheck","kgghtInit")

This is a common problem.

A quick fix can be a restart of the database:

open cmd.exe

sqlplus / as sysdba
shutdown immediate
startup

Then retry the installation.
